Headshots
Maybe you need a new headshot because the one you took with your iPhone isn’t going to cut it on Linked-In. Or you’ve landed the new job that you coveted, and the director of marketing needs a new headshot for their website. Or you finally launched your new business, so you want a new headshot for your website and business cards.
If Harry has a skill, it’s helping people relax before they step in front of his camera. He recognizes some people can easily smile. Then some people would rather go to the dentist and have a root canal than be in front of a camera lens.
Helping folks relax is his special sauce.
He tells you to shrug your shoulders a few times, take a few deep breaths, and then relax. If that doesn’t work, he relies on bad jokes and his self-deprecating sense of humor to lighten the mood.
What’s important is the goal for your portrait. The look you want to be captured and its purpose.
Harry guides you through several poses by modeling them so you can see how to stand and position your shoulders and head. These are the ways he walks you through the process before picking up his camera.
Typically, after assessing your features, he poses you several different ways.
When he starts taking your photo you see them immediately, so the photo session becomes a collaborative effort.
At the end of the photo session, he reviews with you the five to ten photographs you both agree are the best. These are the ones he retouches for you.
